HYMNSTREAM IS A MISSION-DRIVEN, FAN-SUPPORTED, 501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT
DEDICATED TO BRINGING INSPIRATION AND HEALING TO THE WORLD THROUGH MUSIC.
WHO ARE WE?
That depends on how you look at it.
On the one hand, Hymnstream is a small handful of folks committed to doing the heavy lifting involved (coordinating, designing, producing, legal leg work, and so on) that enables others to connect the dots between inspirational music and the blessings that result as this music brings them closer to God.
On the other hand, Hymnstream is an ever-growing group of carefully selected musicians who are able, willing, and eager to contribute to the cause.
And assuming you have more than two hands, Hymnstream is also the community of those who listen to and actively support what we’re doing. In other words, Hymnstream is you!
HOW DID WE GET STARTED?
Hymnstream began with the desire to share more broadly music from the Christian Science Hymnal, a songbook that has brought hope and healing to countless individuals for generations. This grew into the idea of including additional sacred music as well, including other hymns, songs, and instrumentals, both traditional and contemporary, in multiple languages.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We curate existing music and commission original recordings that are streamed, free of charge, to a worldwide audience. We’re also exploring what we might do next, including live concerts featuring our many talent artists (both in person and online) as well as other streaming possibilities on Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play.
HOW ARE WE FUNDED?
Hymnstream operates 100% on tax-deductible donations from you, our listeners. This covers the cost of administration and operations, including musician fees, recording, legal fees, and licensing.
HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE?
Three ways:
Financially – One-time and monthly donations in any amount are gratefully accepted.
Socially – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, email, smoke signals – whatever strikes your fancy.
Prayerfully – This is what got us started; this is what will keep us going.
